Iran to attend meeting on the future of Afghanistan

Netherlands says delegates from Iran will attend an international conference on the future of Afghanistan at The Hague on March 31st.

The Dutch foreign minister said on Wednesday that Iran has indicated that it will send representatives to the conference. But it is not clear yet who the representatives will be and at which level.

He added the move shows international efforts to engage Iran are bearing fruit. The Netherlands is hosting the one-day U.N. conference.

It is aimed at reaching a common set of principles by the international community to bring stability to Afghanistan and the region.
