WHO director-general Margaret Chan said, "We share the pain of the people in Italy and we would like to send our condolences to all those relatives, friends, loved ones of the victims of the disaster. This is more important to reinforce the strength of the message that we are promoting and to reinforce the World Health Organization's commitment to encourage countries to make sure that their health facilities are safe."
