Both Japan and South Korea insist that a satellite launch indicates that Pyongyang is on course to develop ballistic missiles. They say it poses an enormous threat to world peace and are now seeking international sanctions.

Japan's foreign minister on Tuesday said his country would "keep pushing" for UN action to punish the DPRK for the controversial rocket launch.
Japanese FM Hirofumi Nakasone said, "Like us, China and Russia are closely monitoring this action, which could be threat to peace and destabilize safety in the region. We will keep pushing for a new resolution."
Meanwhile in Seoul, the South Korean deputy nuclear envoy repeated that Sunday's launch was regarded as the test of a missile delivery system. He also called on the DPRK to re-engage in Six Party Talks.
