We begin in Italy where strong aftershocks have sent a fresh wave of fear across the earthquake-hit central part of the country.

CCTV reporter, Zhang Ou, is now in the quake-stricken town of L'Aquila to update us on the latest developments there.

That was our correspondent Zhang Ou reporting from L'Aquila. And the latest death toll from the quake has climbed to 235.

Officials estimated that over 50,000 people had been left homeless by the quake.
