China plans to launch its second global navigation system satellite into orbit this Wednesday. |
China completed its first navigation satellite system in 2003, becoming the third country to independently build such a system.
It is designed to gather information for all-weather navigation and help subscribers locate themselves accurately at any time and place.
The system proved helpful during rescue operations after the Wenchuan earthquake last may.
