Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is calling for greater innovation in both technology and the cultural industry in the face of the global financial crisis. During his tour of Guangdong province, Premier Wen also stressed the need for more reform and effort to boost domestic demand.

Premier Wen toured a telecommunication company, which is  known for its innovative products.

As China's largest export-oriented province, Guangdong was one of the first to feel the pinch of the global economic downturn.

During his visit to Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Wen Jiabao underscored the importance of innovation in riding out of the financial crisis. He toured a telecommunication company, which is known for its innovative products. Wen Jiabao said Chinese enterprises should make more efforts to invent new technology, which can help find more opportunities in the world market.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said, "Innovation not only produces a profit, increases competition, and can also bring respect for China. This means China has the potential to be the best in the world in innovation."

Wen Jiabao also stressed the importance of developing the cultural industry, which is retaining strong momentum in China despite the economic recession. He encouraged the innovation of more creative products based on new technology to boost the cultural industry.
