Israeli strike hits Gaza tunnels

Israeli aircraft have destroyed four smuggling tunnels under the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. No casualties have been reported so far.

An Israeli army spokesman said the air strike was launched after Islamist militants fired a rocket into Israel from the Gaza Strip on Thursday. The rocket landed in the open.

In early March, an Israeli missile killed a Palestinian militant and wounded another as both were preparing to launch a rocket. Both were Islamic Jihad members. Rocket fire has dropped significantly since Egypt began efforts to consolidate the January 18th truce that ended a 22-day Israeli offensive against Islamic militants in Gaza.
