The World Health Organization's representative in China says the country's preventative measures against A/H1-N1 flu are effective.

The World Health Organization's representative in China says the country's preventative measures against A/H1-N1 flu  are effective.

Hans Troedsson says China has enforced strict inspection measures on people and products entering China, and quarantined people from regions with reported flu cases. Troedsson says some prevention measures might seem simple but they are necessary.

He says the virus spreads very easily between humans, so it's very possible that the A/H1N1 virus could break out in China. He reminds people to wash their hands more often, and wear masks around infected patients.

Hans Troedsson, WHO Representative in China, said, "China is doing a great preparation. The measures taken are in line with WHO rules."
