Monday is the eve of the first anniversary of the devastating May 12th earthquake in southwest China's Sichuan province. Beichuan county, the hardest hit area, reopened on Sunday for residents to mourn their loved-ones for the second time.

It last reopened more than one month ago, for China's Qingming Festival or Tomb Sweeping day. Beichuan county lost two-thirds of its population, some 21-thousand people, in the 8.0-magnitude earthquake, making it the county that was the worst-hit by the earthquake.
