An election in which more than 700 million people can vote during a month-long polling process that enlists the help of 2.1 million security personal is, by definition, unique.

But over the past few weeks, there have been many colorful scenes that show why India's election is often referred to as the "Dance of Democracy".

This might look like a man playing a harmonium for a few fans, but that is only part of the truth.

According to him, a candidate for India's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party, this is not just singing to get the attention of voters but good old fashioned wooing.

Arjun Meghwal, Candidate, India’s main opposition BJP, said, "Whenever I interact with people, I tend to quote couplets, poetry, so they are intrigued and ask me if I sing as well. So, at their request, I'm singing devotional songs and folk songs for them. This makes the people think that I'm one of them."

Music is not the only way to get noticed. This candidate was hoping to stop traffic, or at least cross the road, by dressing like a cricketer.

Don't think the old man is walking the streets asking for alms. He is trying to garner votes. He has entered the election almost two dozen times, yet has never won a seat.
