China's huge population has helped labor-intensive industries and stimulated the economic boom. But this is only part of the picture. The other side of the coin remains that twenty million jobs have to be created each year to avoid unemployment. It's a mission that is a top concern for politicians. Premier Wen Jiabao is vowing to create 10 million jobs this year. But that's only half the battle. The fight against unemployment will continue for years as job training,job-seeking services, education and more loans from the government have to be provided to ease widespread worries. Minimum wages,living standards,social protection and medical insurance programs are being debated nationwide to address common societal concerns.
