1954 Constitution of the People's Republic of China

Soon after the establishment of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, the courts system was established throughout the country. On September 20, 1954, at the first session of the first National People's Congress (NPC), the first Constitution of the People's Republic of China was promulgated.

The 1954 Constitution defined national identities such as the national flag, emblem and the capital.
