Congratulations on the 50th anniversary of the democratic reform in the Tibet Autonomus Region. We rejoice with the Tibetans on this happy occasion.The Dalai Lama, "chief representative of Tibetan serfdom" do not seem to have learned from his lesson in causing the uprising in Tibet. He continued to spread lies in order to gain support and sympathy from his foreign supporters and overseas Tibetans. Unfortunately, the Dalai Lama had lost in the uprising and had also lost the lesson. Sam - Singi Grangden, Nepal

There was no modern school in Tibet 50 years ago. 98 percent of Tibetans were illiterate. Now a large number of newly-built Tibetan houses have sprung up. The Chinese Government provides subsidies. It will go to great pains to ensure the ecological survival of Tibet. - Neil Gray, Australia
I look forward to travelling to Tibet this year (2009) . I admire and respect the Chinese efforts and achievements in lifting the living standards of the Tibetan people.I believe those who look backwards and lay critisism , overlook the huge gains made in social standards generally right throughout China.Inteligent people looking for a cause to champion , should look forward and do all they can to help improve the living conditions of people in countries around the world whose people suffer from famines and disease brought about by civil strife and corrupt regimes.Personal safety , social harmony , improving education and recognition of ethnic rights and diferences is more visible in modern China than many of its less populous and morally bankrupt critics. I accept that things have a long way to go, but they are moving in the right direction.I wish every country could take a leaf from China´s recent history and graft it onto their own tree. The world would be a greener and happier place .
