The Universiade Figure Skating program consists of four different events: Men's individual skating,Women's individual skating Pairs figure skating Ice and Synchronized skating .

The individual competitions consist of two separate parts: a short program and a free program.

In pairs skating partners skate together, with lifts (liftings and holds), jumps performed simultaneously, partner assisted jumps, spirals and pirouettes performed individually or together. The pairs competition consists of a short program and a free skating program.

Ice Dancing is based on rhythm, interpretation of the music and precision in steps and on lifts where the woman may not be lifted above the man's shoulders. An ice dancing competition includes compulsory dance, the original dance and free dance.Synchronized skating will be included for the first time in the Universiade competitions as a demonstration sport. Skaters will present a short and a free program.

Men's and Women's Individual Figure Skating

Physical fitness, style, concentration, strength, technique and the capacity to perform under pressure are the essential characteristics of the Men's and Women's individual event. Athletes are judged on two separate programs: a short program and a free skating program.
