China International Environmental Protection Exhibition and Conference opens

The 11th China International Environmental Protection Exhibition and Conference (CIEPEC) opened at China International Exhibition Center on June 3. Over 600 international environmental protection organizations attended the expo with their latest technology and equipment. Free tickets are available for the general public with valid ID.

The expo will be held over three days. The products at display include air, water, solid waste and noise pollution prevention and control technology and equipment, as well as ecological restoration and protection technology, clean production technology and clean energy and energy-saving technology and products.

The famous MANTIDE from Italy is also being displayed at the expo. MANTIDE is known to be the world’s fastest car. It focuses on aerodynamic performance and is built with light materials such as carbon fiber to achieve even lower fuel consumption. It has a maximum speed of 351 kilometers per hour.

Environment Protection Minister Zhou Shengxian, who attended the exhibition’s opening ceremony, said that last year for the first time China achieved carbon emission reduction targets on schedule, and against the backdrop of the international financial crisis, China will further expand the construction of an environmental protection system.
