They do not want to be a "duplicate" of each other

There are twin sisters among the new students of 2009 in Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA). The sisters not only are identical but also got the same total score in English and mathematics on the College Entrance Examinations. The two sisters, elder sister Xu Junling and younger sister Xu Junyi, who graduated from Jiangsu Changzhou Senior High School, were never separate from each other since childhood, and this time, they were admitted into the Information Science and Technology Department of NUAA at the same time.

One loves to read kung fu novels and the other loves to read novels written by “Rao Xueman”

Because they are twin sisters, when they were children their hair styles and clothes were the same. After they had grown up, however, they had their own thoughts on hair styles and clothes. During the junior high school period, the younger one wore a center-right fringe while the elder one wore a center-left fringe to help people distinguish one from the other. After entering senior high school, they did not always buy the same clothes and even though they owned the same dress, they always wore it at different times, just so they wouldn’t get mixed-up. Because one is only a minute older than the other, when at home they are not called elder sister or younger sister, but they are called by their names. The two sisters’ mutual interests are reading novels and listening to music: the younger sister loves to listen to faster-tempo music and read kung fu novels written by Cang Yue while the elder sister loves to listen to soft music and read the youth literature written by “Rao Xueman.” They eat and return home together and they do not have any secrets with each other. They are envied by many other students.

Extremely similar appearances and yet different personalities

Their mother once took them to have a bath when they were babies. After the younger sister finished, the two stood next to each other again. And then, the mother picked the younger one and bathed her again. When in Grade One of high school, they were in the same school, but different classes. One day, a classmate said “hello” to the older sister in the classroom, but when she came out of the classroom, she also met the younger sister. Thinking she was meeting a ghost, the classmate was so scared that she couldn’t close her mouth for a long time. Their appearances are similar, but regarding their personalities the sisters said “there are some differences between us” and “generally, our personalities are similar, but some details are different.” The older sister said, “For instance, the Chinese characters written by my sister are small and elegant, but I write with a bold hand.” In the younger sister’s opinion, the older sister is a person who cares about others and when she had troubles but she didn’t want to tell them to her mother, the older sister would be the best listener. In the older sister’s opinion, the younger one is smart, but sometimes too playful. “She can masterfully operate many digital products without reading the user manuals, and I still can’t beat her in this aspect.”
