Zhang Dachun: an amateur writer who goes his own way

Known as the "Best Contemporary Novelist in Chinese literature," Taiwanese writer Zhang Dachun has successfully attracted numerous followers in the Chinese mainland during his two visits here despite the fact that only two of his books had been published in the Chinese Mainland, and few people know him and his books.

Zhang Dachun, a “naughty” writer

“Know Some Characters,” is written by the important Taiwanese writer Zhang Dachun and is his second book which has been published in the Chinese Mainland. In this book, Zhang detached himself from the previous roles given by readers to him as a spokesperson for vanguard novels, a leader in new kung fu story writing, a movie scriptwriter, a radio station host and a “naughty” writer. He transformed into an “old” Chinese character interpreter. He explains the origin and evolution of 89 Chinese characters to his son and daughter using sweet and clever language.
