BEIJING, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Senior Chinese legislator Luo Haocai on Friday met with a youth delegation from the Republic of Korea (ROK), calling on youth of the two countries to cement cooperation in environmental protection.

The delegation, led by former ROK ambassador to China Kwon Byong Hyon, consists of about one hundred youth from the ROK-China Culture and Youth Association for Planting Cooperation.

Luo, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said it is of great importance for youth of the two countries to cement cooperation in environmental protection and building cleaner surroundings.

Referring to prevention of desertification, Luo said he hopes the two countries' youth could have more exchanges and join hand to build a green homeland.

Before heading for Beijing, the delegation visited China's Inner Mongolia and launched a China-ROK cooperation program on building a green "Great Wall". They also planted trees there together with Chinese youth.
