The 11 beautiful girls who are to dance on the Hubei float

At the 60th Anniversary celebration of New China on the morning of October 1, a float from Hubei Province will appear in the parade.

In the one minute and 42 seconds in which the float will drive from the east ornamental column to the west ornamental column in front of Tiananmen Gate, the 11 girls on the float will be the focus of attention. They will perform the large-scale dance "My home is by the Yangtze River," a classical dance in Hubei, on a small platform on the float.

On the night of September 15, reporters interviewed the 11 dancers, who, at the time were having a rehearsal.  

The oldest dancer is 17 years old and the youngest one is 15 years old

At about 9 pm on September 15, after finishing over one hour's rehearsal at the "float village in Beijing", the girls returned to their hotel and were still full of unconcealed excitement and did not look tired. They gathered in room 601 in their hotel, chattering excitedly.

They are: Li Xue from Jingmen City, He Liu, Ren Sisi and Yi Maoling from Jingzhou City, Liu Xinyu and Wang Yixiao from Xiangfan City, Lv Di from Xiaogan City and Zeng Ni, Zhang Huiqi, Shi Anran and Jiang Qian from Wuhan City, all of whom are students enrolled in the Professional Arts Institute of Hubei in 2004 and 2005, the oldest is 17 years old and the youngest is 15 years old.

According to sources, the 11 girls were singled out from their school's dancing classes according to a number of factors such as height, their appearance and their dance skills.
