Over 8.2 million people visited Beijing's Tiananmen Square during holiday

During the National Day holiday, the number of the visitors to the Beijing Tiananmen Square exceeded 8.2 million and exceeded the total number of the visitors received by the entire Beijing during the National Day golden week of 2008.

On October 8, relevant officials from the Beijing Bureau of Tourism said that the "National Day effect" caused by the grand celebrations for the 60th anniversary in Beijing greatly boosted the holiday tourism market in Beijing. According to statistics, during the National Day and Mid Autumn Day holiday, Beijing received 14.97 million domestic and foreign visitors, up 58.9 percent year-on-year; the total tourism income reached 5.39 billion yuan, up 3.1 percent compared to 2008, the highest in history.

On October 3, a boy sitting on his parent's shoulders was taking in the splendid  views of the Tiananmen Square. On the same day, there were countless visitors in  the Square from all over China. They were all happily walking around and taking  pictures in the square to celebrate the National Day holiday.
