Dear CCTV9, I truly enjoyed your Dialogue special on Chinese Literature Translations. As a recent U.S. college grad with an English & History degree, I can honestly say that Chinese culture is still very unknown to Americans. And now I know that even those that were Asian studies majors did not understand what they were reading.I think it is extremely important to export Chinese Culture to the west so that students like my younger sister do not grow up with that air of fear that I had when I was in school. This was because all the information we had was the Confucius Analects and the Cultural Revolution, very little was taught to us about Modern China. A true shame, as everyday I am here I learn something new that I want to share with my friends in the West.So send us books! Send us Fashion Magazines! Anything! Best,Alison

Dear Mr. Yang,In referenced to yesterday´s topic regarding the korean peninsula which high tension still remained. Here is my respd to your questions if war were provked "who will win" & "who will be benefited". No winners, we all are loser. No beneft to all but might be "temporary benefit" to usa as "weapon buz", the biggest loser´d be usa @the end. no need physically involved war in today´s world. "economy" war is the most effective way to be win, win. there are so many usa owned comp doing buz in china and mking profits vs usa based buz, if relationship btw usa & china were worsen so are their buz in china, the 1st loser ´d be them ---buz owners, it´ll be a war as governmt vs buz owners. S korean & japan s/b step back a little & think clearly before the nxt move...

Dear Mr. Yang,I´m delighted to know that china´s working on the most difficult issue in the world --free health care for all " but I do disagree @ "private or foreigner investments needed" hospitals vs government owned. Private owned regardless by local or non local which I´d think it will create "no moral, no conscience", malpractices as well corruptions, China should come up the perfect plans. All private owned hospitals must be licensed and certified by working for governmt owned hsptl for @least 3 yrs prior given licensed for open up buz. Pls kindly consider the following debates in your nxt program: 1) health care. 2) what´s true meaning of noble prize.thx much, Linda

Tian Wei,While visiting Shanghai this summer, I was suprised at the number of Chinese smokers. Why is this? One thing I noticed was that a pack of cigarettes in China do not have the same health warning that a similar pack of cigarettes have in America. Why is there a difference in the health warning depending on the country one is in?Anthony Smith
