Question 1:

Professor Yan, Barack Obama has been acknowledged as a savvy politician and skilled orator. But do you think he's now ready for his debut as the next US president?

Question 2:

His biography, white mother, African father, a childhood spent in Hawaii and Indonesia, working in one of the nation's poorest communities, studying and teaching at some of America's most prestigious universities, is unlike that of any other presidential candidate. And we've seen huge turnouts for the election. So do you think Obama serves as a unifying force in the US?

Question 3:

The US and most of the West are in a difficult time. The aftermath of the war in Iraq and the current economic crisis are severe challenges for his leadership. What will be his response strategies?

Question 4:

The lack of experience, especially in foreign affairs, is regarded as one of the drawbacks to Obama's credentials. And we also see foreign affairs experts like Joseph Biden in his team. So what is your projection for the new administration's foreign policy, specifically its policy towards China?

That's our guest today, Professor Yan Xuetong from Tsinghua University. Thanks a lot for your perspectives.
