BEIJING, July 22 (Xinhuanet) -- The Potala Palace's Treasure Hall is set to open on China's National Day, which falls on Oct. 1, with the construction and exhibits' display nearing completion, according to Tibet Business.

Located in the Snowy City of the Potala Palace, the three-storey hall covers a floor area of 2,000 sq m. The project costing 19 million yuan (2.78 million U.S. dollars) is an attachment to the renovation on Tibet‘s three major cultural relics, namely the Potala Palace, Norbu Lingka and Sakya Monastery.

On display in the hall will be 200 antiquities and photos, including golden seals, jade certificates and golden steles of authority granted by emperors of the Qing and Ming dynasties or by the Central Government of the Republic of China.

Also on show will be other treasures such as precious Tibetan classics, Buddhist statues, Thangka (a Tibetan art of scroll painting), and religious implements.

The ticket price for the hall entrance will be moderate, said Wangdu Dorje, deputy director of the Potala Palace's Management Office.

Previously, the Tibet Autonomous Regional Government officials proposed implementing a ticket identification policy concerning the visitors to the Potala Palace as part of an effort to prevent ticket reselling.

However, the office will not implement such a policy in the near future as specific measures and implementation procedures are yet to be formulated, Wangdu added.
