BEIJING, Aug. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- The Fifth Yarlung Zampo Canyon Cultural Tourism Festival will be held in Bome County, southeastern Tibet's Nyingchi Pecture, from Oct. 13 to 15, according to the Tourism Bureau of Nyingchi Prefecture.

Wang Jun, director of the bureau, said the festival will feature ethnic singing and dancing performance, a trade fair for special local products, and folk sports activities. All those activities will last for at least a week.
Besides, the Nyingchi Prefectual Government will use special featured festivals such as the Gongbo New Year and Tibetan New Year to present Nyingchi‘s magnificent natural sceneries and profound cultures to the outside world.
In the first half of 2009, Nyingchi Prefecture received 367,000 tourists in total, a 216 percent rise over the same period last year.
