LHASA, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- A delegation of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Sunday arrived in Lhasa to attend Tuesday's gathering marking the 50th founding anniversary of the Tibet Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPPCC.
The delegation, headed by Wang Gang, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, was scheduled to attend the ceremony on Tuesday and other celebration activities.
The delegation also planned to make investigations on the region's social and economic development as well as conservation of local ecological environment.
The year 2009 also marks the 50th anniversary of democratic reform in Tibet.
