BEIJING, Sept. 22 -- The Lhasa Railway Station has shortened the booking period for railway tickets from Lhasa to Xining, capital of southwest China‘s Qinghai Province and Lanzhou, capital of northwest China‘s Gansu Province, to five days from the original ten days.
Since September 16, the passenger flow has been increasing rapidly as the National Day holiday is approching, according to the station.

Tickets to Beijing, south China‘s Guangzhou and Chengdu, capital of southwest China‘s Sichuan Province, are also in great demand as all the tickets for the period from September 19 to 25 have been sold.
Railway departments remind passengers to book tickets in advance as tourists are going to flock to Tibet and qutie a few migrant workers whose jobs have finished are ready for home.
