　　Born in Rochester, New York, 16-year old pianist Claire HuangCi has already won numerous competitions at national and international levels, including the World Piano Competition in 1999 and the Kosciuszko National Chopin Piano Competition in 2006. As the first prize winner of many competitions, she performed in Carnegie Hall in 1999, debuted with Philadelphia Orchestra in 2003, and appeared as a soloist with many other US orchestras. Her concerts have been broadcast nationwide in such stations like WHYY of Philadelphia, WQXR of New York, and MPR of Minneapolis.

　　Coming from a family of scientists, Claire received a grand piano as her 6th year birthday present. After exploring the instrument herself in the first year, she began taking formal piano lessons at Settlement Music School of Philadelphia under Ursula Ingolfsson. In the same year, she debuted with the New Jersey Ocean City Orchestra and was featured in a program of FOX News as a child prodigy with "remarkable skills of a mature pianist." Anthony Aibel, the former associate conductor of The National Symphony Orchestra, praised her highly for her music intuitiveness, spontaneous expression, rhythmic vitality, and natural musicality.

　　She is currently a fourth-year piano student at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music under Gary Graffman and Eleanor Sokoloff, holding the institute's Independence Foundation and Hirsig Fellowships. Her music growth also benefits from working with some world renowned artists including Claude Frank, Arie Vardi, Hiroko Nakamura, Zhou Guangren, and Vladimir Krainev.

　　In 2006, Claire HuangCi became the youngest YAMAHA Artist. She has been giving concerts throughout the US, performing solo recitals as well as concerti in collaboration with orchestras. In 2007, she will debut in Munich, Beijing, Paris, Morocco, Warsaw, Moscow, and Vienna.
