A group of programs on CCTV's News Channel have been echoing each other and dealing with the same motif: the 16th National Congress of the CPC.
As early as September 15, Network News and Focus Interview began presenting two features¡ª"Going to Glory" and "Develop through Innovation", both demonstrating the major achievements of the Party. Ten days later, Network News launched "Happy Tidings" to report on the latest progress in those major state projects of public concern.
 Before long, "Portraits of Deputies", starting October 8, began to highlight the stories of 30 deputies to show the exemplary effects of the Party members.
News 30 Minutes aired "Changes in Commoners' Lives," starting mid-October. From a totally different angle, the program presents the huge transformation witnessed in everyday life. It's much closer to ordinary people, and proves very impressive and enlightening.
On October 25, Focus Interview initiated a major series entitled "Leading China to Prosperity."
 Apart from these short series, in evening prime time, CCTV-1 also aired "Stride into the New Era" which was followed by "Deeds Leaving Everlasting Benefits", a feature on the construction of the Yangtze River's flood control system.
