While Chinese people are still encouraged by and excited with the recently closed 16th National Congress, CCTV will send its Heart-to-heart Troupe to Pingxiang, Jiangxi Province on November 28.
Jiangxi is an old revolutionary base in China. During war times, the place played an important role in the Chinese revolution--the first report of gunfire directed against reactionaries came from Nanchang, resulting in the birth of a people's army; the first red revolutionary base was built in the Jinggangshan Mountain; the first red Soviet power originated in Ruijin in southern part of the province; the well-known Anyuan Workers' Movement took place near Pingxiang; and the Autumn-harvest Uprising took place in the Hunan and Jiangxi bordering areas including Pingxiang. All the events occupy important places in the history of Chinese revolution.
The performances of the troupe will be given at the Autumn-harvest Uprising Memorial Square of Pingxiang City, where stands the Uprising Monument. The performances are divided into three parts: Red Fertile Earth, Green Symphony and Golden Glory.
Renowned and popular artists form a strong cast of the tour and will give all kinds of art performances. Singers Peng Liyuan, Yan Weiwen, Liu Bin, Zhang Ye, Mao Amin, Yin Xiumei and Sun Liying will present their new songs. Qu Xuanghe and Hongyun will recite "Beloved China", prose by martyr Fang Zhimin. Peking Opera performer Yang Chunxia will sing an opera piece "Living in Anyuan", which established her fame during the 70s. The actors who played Pan Dongzi and Chunyazi in the film "Sparkling Red Stars", a story about the local revolutionaries in the war time, will sing the theme song of the film. Besides these there will be other performances such as dances, cross talks and sketches to entertain the audience.
CCTV-1 will air the tour on December 1 during prime time.
