CCTV Spring Festival Specials

Spring Festival, a.k.a. Chinese New Year, is the most important holiday for Chinese around the world. And each year CCTV goes to great length to stage specials to meet the need of Chinese viewers around the world.

CCTV Spring Festival Special 2004, which will be broadcast live on Spring Festival Eve, on January 21, will continue its tradition of presenting a lively and entertaining show for a studio audience as well as viewership that is estimated at hundreds of million in China alone.

The show is slated to begin at 8pm Beijing Time and will last well past midnight. It will be broadcast on CCTV-1 as well as on CCTV-4.

CCTV-9 will telecast the entire show in English.

CCTV Spring Festival Traditional Operas Special 2004 will be broadcast on CCTV-4 on January 23, at 15:05 Beijing Time.

CCTV Spring Festival Song and Dance Special 2004 will be broadcast on CCTV-4 on January 24, at 15:05 Beijing Time.

Spring Festival 2004 falls on February 22, 2004. It will be the Year of the Monkey on the Chinese calendar.
