China´s top advisory body meets in Beijing

The annual session of China's top government advisory body, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, will open today (Wednesday) in Beijing.

At a press conference held on Tuesday, a CPPCC spokesman said the proposals submitted by the attending members cover a very broad range of aspects concerning the transformation of the country. Among them are the revitalization of industries in northeast China and improving the livelihood of farmers. Another important item on the session agenda will focus on CPPCC members joining the National People's Congress in a non-voting capacity for discussion on amendments to the Constitution.
