The traditional Chinese Lantern Festival, known as Yuanxiao Jie, falls on the 15th day of the first month of the Lunar New Year. It's associated with Yuan Xiao dumplings. They're made of sticky rice flour, with delicious nuts or fruits inside, that symbolize family harmony. But that's not all the festival has to offer.
A lantern show adds vibrant color to South China's Guangzhou City, featuring golden roosters crowing Spring Festival greetings. Various lantern shows are popular in southeast China's Fujian Province. And a lantern show in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, features something very special: a 4.5 meter-tall rooster that weighs 300 kilograms.
