CCTV-9 lands in Samoa

CCTV-9, the 24-hour English language service of CCTV International is now available for viewers in Samoa. The Pacific island's state-run broadcasting corporation has set up a special channel to run CCTV-9 program for eighteen hours each day from 6 in the morning till midnight. A ceremony in Apia was held on Saturday to mark the occasion. The Chinese delegate was headed by Tian Jin, Vice Director-General of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television. Samoan Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi and six cabinet ministers attended the event. CCTV-9 was established in September, 2000. As of now, the number of overseas viewers has reached 100 million.
