Hong Kong Filmart fair opens

The Hong Kong Filmart fair has opened in the region's Convention and Exhibition Center. About 340 exhibitors from home and abroad are attending this year's event.

Now in its ninth year, Filmart aims to rejuvenate the region's film industry. The three-day event is part of the Hong Kong Entertainment Expo, which opened on Monday. The half-month long expo brings together the film, video, digital entertainment and music industries. In the coming two weeks, over 200 Chinese and foreign films will be shown in Hong Kong. The region's Trade Development Council estimated that over 2 thousand film workers, including producers and buyers, will visit the expo.
