Drafts discussed at conference

The Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee has met to discuss preparations for the submitting of the government report draft, at the fourth session of the 10th National People's Congress. In addition, the draft of the 11th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development was also on the agenda. General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Hu Jintao chaired the conference.
The Politburo meeting says that during the past year, China has achieved rapid and stable economic growth. In addition, the economic reform and opening up policy has been enhanced, and people's living standards improved. The meeting stressed that the government must keep its macro economy policy consistent and stable, to enhance development. The modernization of China's vast rural areas must also speed up and the building of a socialist countryside become a priority. It was emphasized at the meeting that the reform of China's education system should be deepened, to build a knowledge-rich society. The Chinese people and the whole of the Communist Party must be guided by Deng Xiaoping Theory and the "Three Represents", to guarantee the implementation of a scientific concept of development.
