Chinese FM: China advocates "harmonious world"

Li Zhaoxing, said, "We observe the purpose and principles of the charter of the United Nations. We honestly fulfill our international obligations. China pursues an independent foreign policy of peace, it safeguards its own lawful rights and interests, and also respects the lawful rights and interests of other countries. We stand for resolving differences through consultations, and meeting common challenges through cooperation."

The Foreign Minister also reaffirmed China's commitment to peaceful development, saying there is nothing in the world more important than peace. And he said China will keep working with other countries to make the world a better place.
