1st International Festival of Intangible Cultural Heritage opens in Chengdu

Ding Wei, assistant minister Chinese Ministry of Culture, said, “The Chinese government has attached great importance to the Protection of intangible cultural heritage. It’s a relatively new topic for China and also for the world. China has developed its own protection list and many provinces also have their own cultural heritage. Our next step is to increase the number of items under protection and further enhance the development of the heritage.”
The festival will last till 10th of June and throughout which a number of performances from many different countries will be staged in Chengdu.
