At the command center of the Wuhan railway station, Li Changchun inspected the power plant and toll gates and visited the working staff and soldiers on duty. Local officials briefed him on the disaster relief work. Li Changchun stressed the top priority is to evacuate stranded passengers in railway and bus stations and at the same time, to ensure coal and electricity supplies.

He Guoqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC central Committee Politburo, is in East China's Jiangxi province to supervise relief efforts. He and leading provincial officials are looking into the latest progress. He says priority must be directed at the most urgent needs of local life. He Guoqiang visited the airports and railway stations in the capital Nanchang. Jiangxi is an important hub in central China. He Guoqiang said resources should be focused on getting the transport system back to normal. He also stressed the daily life of local residents must be provided for and passengers waiting at railway stations and airports should receive enough food.
