The premier then toured a nearby village to get first hand information on how the snow has affected the people. After several days of blackouts, the village now has power again, and everyone is busy preparing for the lunar new year.
Wen Jiabao joined them in cooking a local delicacy -- a special Spring Festival cake.
The premier also sat down with the villagers and chatted with them. He felt happy for them because they could watch the Spring Festival Gala on CCTV as usual, since the electricity is back on.
Another thing the premier gave attention to is the prices for daily necessities, especially food.
He visited a local market and asked about prices about many goods. He expressed satisfaction on learning that the local government had immediately helped the markets with their water and power supply, and helped to stabilize the prices by ensuring supplies.
In the evening, Wen Jiabao discussed relief work and reconstruction with local government officials. He stressed that the government must direct well and put priority on people's lives, to achieve final victory in the battle against disaster.
