CCTV netizens from overseas protest against distorted coverage, Olympics boycott

Don Jordan from USA: China is safer than many places in USA

I wanted to comment about all the talks about boycotting the Olympics. I think this is not a good thing to do. I'm an American and live in China. It's a lot safer in China than in a lot of places in the U.S. and the people are really nice here. Every Country has there own problems even the U.S. Maybe these people who are causing probelms should clean up problems in their own countires first.

Netizen from Canada: Twisted reports make Canadian feel ashamed

As a 4th generation Canadian I am very embarrassed and ashamed by our so-called news reporting service here. This event has forever damaged the credibility of western media and should not be taken as word anymore, probably never should have. My hope is that westerners (who are no doubt unjustifiably biased towards China), will see a lot of Beijing and other parts of China during Olympic coverage and maybe realize that China is not at all what they were told. I also hope that Chinese people do not think that all Canadians are so ignorant and condescending. I'm doing my personal best to educate people here and break down their bias!

Chris from Australia: CNN, BBC owe readers an apology

Shame to the US and Western media especially CNN, BBC and FOX news! You only presented twisted news and aired concocted events with bad intentions on the Tibet issue. As a reader we demand respect and factual news. Don't insult our intelligence by giving us rubbish and false news. You owe us readers an apology!

Netizen from Philippines: Those responsible for riots in Lhasa should be dealt with law

It is such a sad sight to see all those innocent civilians casulaties in the aftermath of the riots. The people responsible for the strings of arson should be meted the full force of the law. We overseas people condoles with the families of these victims. Also the policemaen hurt during the riots, our hearts go to them too. We should not allow this to happen again. More power to the Chinese people and all nationalities, including minorities shoud unite for a better China.

Mohamed,Abdille from kenya: "Say no to separatism" and "Do not politicise the Olympics"

As a kenyan student in China I am highly appreciating the role taken by CCTV 9 in informing the foreigners in China about the true picture of events in Tibet. Like Kenya, China is a unified multi-ethnic country, with 56 different ethnic communities. China adopts a policy of regional ethnic autonomy, promoting ethnic development in the economy, technology, education, culture and healthcare. My reminder to the Chinese people and authority is that any reasonable sound minded world citizen will stand by their side and SAY NO TO SEPARATISM and will shout loud "DO NOT POLITICISE" the olympics because of few gangsters attempts to cause chaos in a peaceful environment.
