Three moderate earthquakes jolt China in one day

In Qinghai province, a 5.5-magnitude earthquake rocked the Tanggula Mountain Range at 6:04 pm, followed by 5.1-magnitude tremor an hour after that.

Information on casualties and damages were not immediately available. The affected area is sparsely populated, at an altitude of about 5 thousand meters above sea level.

A 5.0-magnitude tremor hit the same area on Monday. No casualties have been reported.
