President Hu meets space scientists

Hu Jintao credited the several generations of scientists and military officers for what China has accomplished in the 16 years of its manned space program. He said the country will always remember their contribution.
China has a three-stage plan for its manned space program, with the goal of a permanent space station. Hu Jintao called on the staff to continue their work on the second step and beyond.
The Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Guo Boxiong, made a similar appeal. He encouraged everyone to work for the complete success of the Shenzhou 7 mission.
