Both the orbiting module and the re-entry module carried a great deal of equipment. So it was a challenge for designers to make enough room for the astronauts.

He Yu said, "The facilities that didn't need to be used by the crew were kept away from them. In the re-entry module, for example, a lot of equipment was installed under the astronauts' seats, so that it wouldn't affect the crew's movement, and it reduced the possibility of accidental damage to the equipment."

The astronauts had everything they needed to live comfortably, such as sleeping bags, food-warming facilities, a water tank and toilets. And the system was designed specifically to avoid any problems in zero-gravity conditions.
