Pandas ready for Taiwan journey

Two panda keepers from the mainland will also spend some time in Taipei with Tuantuan and Yuanyuan, to help them adjust to the new environment.

And of course, the pandas will be well-supplied with their favorite food bamboo during the journey and in Taipei. Mainland experts believe the bear couple will fit in well at their new home, due to their good physical condition.

Cao Qingyao said, "Tuantuan and Yunayuan are very healthy panda, and adaptable to different kinds of environments. They are the best couple, and have remained in excellent condition over the past two years. I believe they will enjoy a happy and safe life in Taiwan."

After more than three years' delay, the four year old pandas can finally make their trip to Taiwan to meet with the long-waiting compatriots of the island.
