Quake survivors move into new houses

Dong says it will take at least two more years for his family to recover from the quake. But he is quite confident about the future.

21-year-old Ren Miao is a normal college student. The new home is a surprise gift for her winter holiday.

Villager Ren Miao said, "I couldn't get such a house even after 50 years of hard work."

By the end of 2008, the central government had distributed more than 10.7 billion yuan in financial aid to quake survivors .

To ensure survivors were warm during the winter, the government also distributed 625 million yuan in special aid.
