Deputies from Tibet: People´s life greatly improved

The Deputies told reporters that Tibet has maintained quick economic development and people's lives continuously improved over the last year, despite the Lhasa Riots last March and several natural disasters.

Qiangba Punco said "So far, the entire society of Tibet remains stable, and that provides a fairly good condition for our development. The GDP growth rate remained at double digits in the past sixteen years. We're certain of reaching the goal of a "moderately Wealthy Society" together with the rest of the country."

Qiangba says there won't be any large-scale riots during this time of the year like last year. He says the Autonomous Region is ready to welcome the 60th Anniversary of the People's Republic with impressive achievements.
