China calls for "clean legal system"

Cao Jianming, procurator general of Supreme People Procuratore, said, "Chinese procurators investigated 2,687 government officials above the county level for graft, malfeasance and infringement of people's rights, including four at the provincial or ministerial level."

The long list of punished officials includes the former vice mayor of Beijing, Liu Zhihua, the former vice-president of the Supreme Court, Huang Songyu, and a former official of a State-run bank, Wang Yi.
