Boao Forum to discuss financial crisis

Long Yongtu said one highlight of the forum is the active participation of Chinese ministerial officials. For the first time, more than 10 Chinese ministers will attend and address the forum. In the meantime, overseas participation has greatly increased. More than 55 percent of business leaders and more than 50 percent of ministerial officials attending the forum are from overseas.

Frank-Jurgen Richter from Switzerland has participated in the meeting for four years in a row.

During the three-day forum, delegates are expected to discuss the increasing role that emerging economies play in the global financial arena, the reviving of the international trade and investment, as well as the impact of the fluctuation in the price of raw materials. Unlike previous meetings, this year's forum will not feature a party and a display of fireworks.
