Forum participants also believe maintaining financial stability is key for emerging economies in Asia to improve the grim economic picture.
Nursultan Abishevich, President Republic of Kazakhstan, said, "Many people are talking about the global financial crisis. However, I think the crisis not only presents challenges and difficulties, but also provides opportunities for all of us. I think to introduce a new international monetary system and a new currency into the global market is a very important way for us to tackle the crisis."
Established in 2001, the Boao Forum for Asia serves as a platform for high-level interaction between the leading political, financial, and academic figures from Asia and other parts of the world.
