From imperial parks to precious pottery, ceramics is one of the most beautiful forms of traditional Chinese art, and it is also favorite of many art collectors. On Jan.7, the China Ceramic Wonders Exhibition was held in Beijing and ceramics lovers were granted a priceless opportunity to enjoy some of these masterpieces.
Over 500 ceramic works were on display from 30 artists including the nationally-renowned Wang Xiliang, Wang Enhuai, Liu Ping and Zhou Guozhen. The exhibits include statues, color paintings on porcelain, blue ware, decorative products and modern ceramic arts. People, landscapes, birds and flowers are the theme of many of the pieces. The massive screen "Prosperity" is a masterpiece of baked porcelain, 2.2 meters long and 1.2 meters in width. And another group of vases called "Oath to Mother", is porcelain master Qin Xilin's work, celebrating the 54th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The vases feature a combination of traditional blue ware colors and modern styles.
The artists also showed their consummate skills first hand to entertain the crowds, giving them a real taste of how these wonderful ceramic works are brought to life.
